Chain started in Rotterdam in 2026, after one too many nights where three of us ran coding agents on the same repo and spent the morning untangling what they did. We wanted the agents to talk to each other. So we made them.
The tools got good at writing code alone. Nobody made them good at working next to each other. That gap is the whole product.
We will never route source code through our servers. Coordination is small; code is not ours to hold.
A rule in a prompt is a suggestion. A hook that refuses the write is a guarantee. We ship guarantees.
If a feature needs a tutorial, it is not done. New co-work, share a code, Open AI. That is the whole onboarding.
